Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) was established at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in April 2009, with strategic and financial support from the Shanghai Municipal Government. In an effort to help build Shanghai into a global financial center, SAIF is dedicated to educating future financial leaders and providing professional advice to policy makers. Mr. TU Guangshao, Vice Mayor of Shanghai serves as the Board President of SAIF. Prof. WANG Jiang, tenured professor of MIT and internationally known economist, is the Director of SAIF.
As the first business school in Asia with a distinct finance focus, SAIF is committed to developing financial leaders by virtue of its world-class facilities and internationally acclaimed faculty that consists largely of tenured professors from top universities (e.g. Yale, MIT, Stanford, Princeton) in the world. The full-featured financial trading lab with real-time data enables you to acquire hands-on experience with simulated trading. As part of our Go Global strategy, all the programs at SAIF offer student exchange programs or study tours which will give you extensive international exposure. Diversity and Globalization at SAIF
SAIF boasts a diversified student body and engages itself closely in the
promotion of globalization since its inception. With a vision to become the
world’s leading business school, SAIF has set up the Office of International
Affairs to work on global initiatives and provide services to international
students and scholars.
SAIF designs various programs to maximize the students’ international exposure, including student exchange programs, lectures by foreign industry speakers, networking opportunities, overseas study tours, international event organization/facilitation.
Financial Trading Lab
The financial trading lab at SAIF, established in 2010, draws on the advantages of those at top business schools in North America. The lab is equipped with 40 trading terminals which are loaded with universally used trading systems, including Wind/Bloomberg/Factset/FTS, and can provide access for 80 people. Real-time data from New York, London, Chicago, Shanghai and other major financial markets around the world is transmitted to the terminal to help the students acquire hands-on experience through constant practices. The full-featured financial trading lab that integrates simulated transactions and academic research is the most advanced of its kind in China.
