Hubei University of Arts and Science (HUAS) is a public comprehensive general undergraduates university affiliated to Hubei province. It is located at the ancient Longzhong, which is the former residence of the Chinese wisdom incarnation Zhuge Liang, and in Xiangyang city, which is the national famous historical and cultural city and the deputy center city in Hubei province. The Three Kingdom historical and cultural landscape and the natural landscape complement each other. The university was established in 1958, originally under the name"Xiangyang Normal Specialized Postsecondary College".Xiangyang camnus of Wuhan University was set up here from 1966 to 1978. In March 1998, Xiangfan College was amalgamated by Xiangyang Normal Specialized Postsecondary College, Xiangfan Vocational College and Xiangfan College of Education. In 2000, Hubei Arts and Crafts School was integrated into the college. In February 2012, approved by the National Ministry of Education, the school was renamed "Hubei University of Arts and Seiance". The school has been awardad as the national outstanding school at the evaluation of undergraduate teaching work level, and the national advanced unit at the employment work of graduates in general institutes of higher education.
