Yunnan Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology is a full-time higher vocational public college which is approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province, for the record at the ministry of education and possesses the higher education qualification to enroll separately, committed to fostering talents in equipment manufacturing industry. The college can be traced back to Yunnan Industrial School in 1910. In 2004, the college was set up based on the combination of Yunnan Mechanical Industry School and Yunnan Mechanical Technical School. Till now, the college was awarded "Provincial Demonstrative Vocational College" and "National Key Vocational College".
