The College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts was established on November 19, 2017. It is an independent and fully public comprehensive art college approved by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government to practice the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the Belt and Road Initiative so as to accelerate the development of Chengdu into a cultural and creative center of western China and a world-famous cultural city, and established on the basis of the existing arts department of Chengdu University in accordance with the new system and mechanism.
Study in CCAAChengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic (CAP) was founded in 1965. It is situated in Chengdu, the city with a cultural history over one thousand years old, also known as “The Land of Abundance”. CAP is a full-time college directly under the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, and is one of the first 28 demonstration colleges among the 1,300 higher vocational and technical colleges nationwide.
Study in CAPFounded in 1958, Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) was co-built by the central and local governments and is administered mainly by Sichuan Provincial Government. It is the second petroleum university since the establishment of P.R. China.
Study in SWPUChengdu Technological University(CDTU)is a public full-time undergraduate school held by Sichuan Provincial Government and administrated by Sichuan Provincial Department of Education. Established in 1913, it was the first industrial school held in Sichuan after the Revolution of 1911. CDTU has been renamed 12 times in different periods of history, known as from “Sichuan Class A Industrial School”, “Chengdu Advanced Industrial Vocational School”, “Chengdu Radio Machinery College”, “Chengdu Electromechanical College” to the present name. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, it had been under the Ministry of Electronics Industry for a long time. In 1987, it began to be held by Sichuan Provincial Government and administrated by Provincial Department of Information Industry. Since 2000, the college has been administrated by Sichuan Provincial Department of Education. Marshal Chen Yi was learning in the Department of Dyeing and Weaving from 1916 to 1918. Jiang Zemin, former President of P.R.C, paid an inspection visit to this school in 1984 and four years later he wrote an inscription for its 75thanniversary, saying “Carry forward the fine traditions and cultivate outstanding talents.” In March 2012, this school was upgraded to a four-year undergraduate university—Chengdu Technological University (CDTU), approved by Ministry of Education. The school has been listed as one of the pilot universities for the provincial “Outstanding Engineers’ Education and Training Plan.”
