Yellow River Conservancy Technical Institute, founded in 1929, is located in Kaifeng, an ancient capital of eight dynasties in China. It is one of the first batch of National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges and one of the top ten vocational colleges in China. There are more than 1,000 faculty members. As for the full-time teachers, of which 30% are professors and associate professors, 70% hold a doctor's or master's degree. And 80% of the teachers are Dual-Qualifications. The Institute has 17 teaching units, and more than 60 majors including water conservancy, surveying, robotics, big data, and cross-border e- commerce. The Institute has over 21,000 students. Since its establishment, the Institute has trained more than 200,000 graduates who are working in various industries all over the country, winning the honorary title of "cradle of technical elites”.

The Institute has enchanting scenery and excellent conditions, and it occupies an area of more than 933,000 m2 and a building area of 520,000 m2. The Institute cooperates with enterprises build 209 on-campus training rooms and 479 off-campus practice bases. There are over 1.15 million books and 600,000 e-books in the school library.

Since 2012, the Institute has launched the program of training employees for the hydro power projects in Equatorial Guinea of Power China Sinohydro Bureau 6 Co.,Ltd. With 8 years development, the Institute has established a school-enterprise training mode for cultivating international talents. More than 500 foreign students from 35 countries including Russia, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa and Chile have been trained in China. The program has been continuously supplying foreign technical personnel for Chinese enterprises' overseas business such as Power Construction Corporation of China and NORINCO International.
