Eligibility
1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health.
2. Education Background & Age
Bachelor’s program applicants should be at least 18 years old with a completed high school diploma by 1st September 2022.
Master’s program applicants should be under the age of 35 with a completed a bachelor’s degree by 1st September 2022.
PhD degree applicants should be under the age of 40 with a completed a master’s degree by 1st September 2022.
3. Language proficiency: new HSK 5 level (scored at least 180)

1. Official diploma and degree certificate
Applicants in the final year can submit the official pre-graduation certificate at the time of application. Applicants with diploma and degree certificate issued in a language other than English, will need to submit both the original and official translation of their documents.
2. Previous academic transcript
It should be your official academic transcript(s), showing all the subjects studied and marks obtained. If you have already completed your degree, official degree certificate will be required. Applicants with academic documents issued in a language other than English, will need to submit both the original and official translation of their documents.

It should be 1000 words in maximum and written in English or Chinese.
Your personal statement should cover the areas outlined below.
-Explain why you wish to apply for this program and why you feel it matches your interests, academic background, and if relevant, your career plans
-List research findings or qualifications you have during your undergraduate degree if applicable
5. One letter of reference (for Type B, written by high school teacher)/ two letters of reference (for Type A, written by professors or associate professors)
It should be recent, dated, in English/Chinese, on letter-headed paper and with referee’s contact details.

8. Certificates of nationality, canceling the formal household registration in China, continuous residence in a foreign country for more than two years in the past four years (30th April 2018 - 30th April 2022).
(required for an applicant who has immigrated from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to another country, an applicant who has acquired foreign nationality by birth but has studied at Chinese primary and secondary schools and has at least one parent who is Chinese. The later one does not need to present proof for canceling the formal household registration in China.) *Shanghai Government Scholarship awardees are selected from those who are qualified and admitted to the degree programs in SUFE. Q: If I failed to get the scholarship, is the money refundable?
A: No, because the application process for this scholarship is complicated and hard to deal with. We need a very long time to help you apply it. As a result, it is not refundable.
Q: When can I know the result whether I get the scholarship or not?
A: Generally, the result will come out around mid-February for Spring Intake and around May to June for Autumn Intake.
Q: When will I get the admission documents?
A: The admission documents, including Admission Letter, Scholarship Confirmation and Visa Letter, will be delivered to you 1-2 months before the course starts.
Q: Why should I pay the service fee in advance?
A: Scholarship application takes time, effort and resource in both CUCAS and universities, and the process is irreversible. In case of casual applications and attempts, we charge service fee in advance. There is no extra cost or hidden charge.
