    First-Class Scholarship : Covers tuition, living allowance (2,500 CNY per month), accommodation subsidy  (1,000 CNY per month), insurance.

    Third-Class Scholarship : Covers 25% of the tuition, insurance.

    Eligibility

    1. High school diploma and above.

    2. Non-Chinese citizens who hold a foreign passport and comply with the relevant regulations set by the “Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC " and etc.

    3. English language requirements
    For non-native speakers of English, either TOEFL (iBT, JI code: 6210) or IELTS score is required. TOEFL (iBT): Total score 84 or above. Mybest Scores are accepted.
    IELTS: Overall 6.0 or above.
    Exceptions: You may be exempted from providing any of these exams if your SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score is 650 or above,  if both your ACT Reading and English scores are 27 or above, or if you have recently completed at least 4 years of rigorous academic study in any of the following countries: Anguilla, Antigua, Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, England, Federated, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Seychelles, Shetland Islands, St. Kitts-Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Singapore. Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, United States (other than Puerto Rico), US Virgin Islands, Wales, and Singapore. (Those in American Schools and British Schools abroad may also be exempted if at least 4 years of rigorous academic study have recently been completed and if test scores meet the above standards.)

    4. SJTU International Undergraduate Entrance Exam
    The “SJTU International Undergraduate Entrance Exam” includes two parts: Written Test and Oral Test.
    Exam Method: Both Written and Oral tests are online.  

    5. Accomplished application procedure on the Common application system .

    6. Applicants should be officially admitted by SJTU and not be awardees of other scholarships at the same time.

    7. Provide relevant English language certificate according to language requirement of English Program.

    8. SJTU reserves the right of final explanation.

    Documents You Need to Provide ( Application Documents Sample)

    1. Applicants under 18 years old (until September 1, 2023) should provide a letter of guarantee for their guardian in China (a notarized copy approved by SJTU is required).

    2. Financial guarantee proven deposit of not less than RMB 100,000 (or equivalent in foreign currency).

    3. The nationality or household registration certificate of both the applicant's parents (Passport or ID card)

    5. Applicants should provide the following materials if one or both parents of the applicant are Chinese citizens
    Certificate of the applicant obtained foreign nationality at birth or afterward.
    The nationality or household registration certificate of both the applicant's parents (passport or ID card).
    For applicants who obtained foreign nationality at birth, if one or both of the parents are Chinese citizens and have the permanent residence abroad, a certificate of the corresponding permanent residence needs to be provided; if one or both of the parents are Chinese citizens but have not obtained the permanent residence abroad, certificate of the withdrawal from Chinese nationality of the applicant needs to be provided.
    For applicants who were originally Chinese citizens and obtained foreign nationalities afterward, a certificate for the cancellation of their original registered residence in China and the renunciation of the Chinese nationality should be provided.

    Academic transcript in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.
    High school official transcripts, including all courses taken;
    SAT(code:9184)/ACT(code: 3038)/A-Level/UEC/IB(code:N010601) score report.

    10. Senior high school diploma or equivalent
    2023 graduating students should provide an official statement from your high school as proof of graduation.
    Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.

    11. Two recommendation letters, at least one of which has to be provided by one of the academic teachers in the high school (with signature).

    12. English proficiency test certificate
    Provide at least one of the following materials:
    (a) TOEFL (code: D070)score report (total score ? 80, with Writing ? 20 );
    (b) IELTS score report (total score ? 5.5, with Writing ? 5.5);
    (c) Others (e.g. Proof of English native speaker, Certificate of at least 3 years of full-time academic study taught in English and etc.);

    Q: If I failed to get the scholarship, is the money refundable?
    A: Yes, please refer to our "Terms & Conditions".

    Q: When can I know the result whether I get the scholarship or not?
    A: Generally, the result will come out around mid-February for Spring Intake and around May to June for Autumn Intake.

    Q: When will I get the admission documents?
    A: The admission documents, including Admission Letter, Scholarship Confirmation and Visa Letter, will be delivered to you 1-2 months before the course starts.

    Q: Why should I pay the service fee in advance?
    A: Scholarship application takes time, effort and resource in both CUCAS and universities, and the process is irreversible. In case of casual applications and attempts, we charge service fee in advance. There is no extra cost or hidden charge.
