    Eligibility

    1. High school diploma and above.

    2. Non-Chinese citizens who hold a foreign passport and comply with the relevant regulations set by the “Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC" and etc.

    3. Chinese language certificate. Provide at least one of the following materials: (a) HSK certificate. (HSK level 5 ≥ 200 scores, with Writing ≥ 60 scores or HSK level 6 ≥180 scores, with Writing ≥ 60 scores); (b) Proof of Chinese native speaker; (c) Application Form for One Year of Chinese Language Courses (only applicable for conditional admission);

    4. Entrance Exam

    Applicants who pass the preliminary review should take the “SJTU International Undergraduate Entrance Exam”. The Entrance Exam includes two parts: Written Test and Oral Test.
    Exam Method: Both Written and Oral tests are online.

    5. Applicants should be officially admitted by SJTU and not be awardees of other scholarships at the same time

    6. Scholarship decision is based on the comprehensive ranking of applicants’ both academic and interview performance.

    7. Scholarship results will be announced together with the admission results.

    8. SJTU reserves the right of final explanation.

    Documents You Need to Provide ( Application Documents Sample)

    1. Applicants under 18 years old (until September 1, 2023) should provide a letter of guarantee for their guardian in China (should be notarized by relevant authorities).

    2. School Profile
    E.g. Overall Introduction, Admission Requirement, Enrollment Rate, Curriculum, Grading System, University Acceptance of Graduates and etc.

    3. Birth Certificate

    4. The nationality or household registration certificate of both the applicant's parents (Passport or ID card)

    5. Personal statement with signature

    6. Applicants should provide the following materials if one or both parents of the applicant are Chinese citizens
    Certificate of the applicant obtained foreign nationality at birth or afterward.
    The nationality or household registration certificate of both the applicant's parents (passport or ID card).
    For applicants who obtained foreign nationality at birth, if one or both of the parents are Chinese citizens and have the permanent residence abroad, a certificate of the corresponding permanent residence needs to be provided; if one or both of the parents are Chinese citizens but have not obtained the permanent residence abroad, certificate of the withdrawal from Chinese nationality of the applicant needs to be provided.
    For applicants who were originally Chinese citizens and obtained foreign nationalities afterward, a certificate for the cancellation of their original registered residence in China and the renunciation of the Chinese nationality should be provided.

    2023 graduating students should provide an official statement from your high school as proof of graduation

    13. Supporting Documents: Certificate of Good Conductv Provided by your current/previous school/company in Chinese/English to improve your success rate.

    14. Applicants applying for designing will need to submit portfolios.

    15. Award certificates (if any).

    16. Financial guarantee proven deposit of not less than RMB 100,000 (or equivalent in foreign currency).

    Q: If I failed to get the scholarship, is the money refundable?
    A: Yes, please refer to our "Terms & Conditions".

    Q: When can I know the result whether I get the scholarship or not?
    A: Generally, the result will come out around mid-February for Spring Intake and around May to June for Autumn Intake.

    Q: When will I get the admission documents?
    A: The admission documents, including Admission Letter, Scholarship Confirmation and Visa Letter, will be delivered to you 1-2 months before the course starts.

    Q: Why should I pay the service fee in advance?
    A: Scholarship application takes time, effort and resource in both CUCAS and universities, and the process is irreversible. In case of casual applications and attempts, we charge service fee in advance. There is no extra cost or hidden charge.
