a. Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport.

b. Applicants for Masters degrees should hold a qualification which is equivalent (or above) to a Bachelors degree from a Chinese university.

c. Applicants are not in China (Graduation time from China should be over one year).

d. Applicants for master’s degree program must be under the age of 35.

e. Applicants for Chinese-taught Graduate Programs should have comparatively high Chinese proficiency.
For Arts application HSK should be over HSK5 195 while for Sciences application HSK should be over HSK4 210.

f. Applicants for English-taught Graduate Programs should have high English proficiency.
TOEFL or IELTS Test Report (TOEFL test scores needs to be more than 550 points/80 points. IELTS score needs to be more than 6 points. Applicants from the English-speaking countries can be exempted).

g. Applicants should not be holding the scholarship of any other category.

h. Obey Chinese laws.

f. Without fatal health problems.

1. Two passport-sized photos.

2. BNU Application Form for International Student.

3. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (In duplicate.)

4. 2 Recommendation letters from two associate professors or scholars with higher academic titles.
There is no specified format for the recommendation letters and all letters must be signed by the referee.

6. Applicants for Masters Degree programs should submit an original or notarized copy of their undergraduate academic transcripts and Bachelors degree certificate and graduation certificate (in Chinese or English).
*Applicants who are still not graduated yet must submit Expectation Certificate of Graduation. After admitted by the University, the documents must be submitted when register in BNU. Otherwise the admission will be canceled.

7. Applicants who are non-native English speaker should provide a certificate of their English proficiency.

8. HSK certificate and results transcript or other documents which prove the applicant’s Chinese language proficiency.

9. If you have, please submit any published academic papers, patents, or other academic achievements (originals or copies).

10. The photocopy of “Foreigner Physical Examination Form”.
Keep the original copies by yourself.

11. One Photocopy of applicant’s passport (this must be a valid, ordinary passport)；

12. For Pakistan Applicants: to get admission in masters the candidate must have the 16* years of education which may include: Bachelors (2 Years)+ Masters (2 years)
Bachelors (4 year program)
*B.Ed, M.Ed and any other kind of diploma are not included in 16 years.

Q: If I failed to get the scholarship, is the money refundable?
A: Yes, please refer to our "Terms & Conditions".

Q: When can I know the result whether I get the scholarship or not?
A: Generally, the result will come out around mid-February for Spring Intake and around May to June for Autumn Intake.

Q: When will I get the admission documents?
A: The admission documents, including Admission Letter, Scholarship Confirmation and Visa Letter, will be delivered to you 1-2 months before the course starts.

Q: Why should I pay the service fee in advance?
A: Scholarship application takes time, effort and resource in both CUCAS and universities, and the process is irreversible. In case of casual applications and attempts, we charge service fee in advance. There is no extra cost or hidden charge.
